ESCHENGARTEN
DUA has been commissioned by the client ARE/ areos to develop a masterplan for a residential development quarter in the south of Vienna and further on to work on the design of two residential buildings with the total amount of 72 two- to four-room apartments.
These two four-storey buildings are facing each other while enclosing a generous green courtyard, the so-called ‘Eschengarten’. As a main feature of this project each apartment has its own exterior space in form of a private garden, loggia or balcony. In addition residents are able to rent a rooftop garden for urban gardening.
The façade is characterized by the consecutive sequence of those private outer spaces and floor-to-ceiling windows of the main living rooms.
We have been commissioned with preparing construction documents and artistic direction during construction phase.
